Display Unit

A custom made book presentation device whose depth were built to fit the precise length of a publication, with the units length measuring the width of eight pages (which also equaled the publications signature structure). The overall height of the unit was set at above desk height to challenge how objects are often viewed under set guidelines. As documentation, various architectural views function as a form of in-situational diagram, photographed in context as a form of model, or non-instructional image, i.e. to be constructed without any guidelines. Once books are placed on 'Display Unit' and due to its malleable 'frame only' structure, when viewed from above (in a standing position) books may appear as if they are levitating.

'Display Unit' was originally constructed for the launch of an anthology of image and textual material entitled 'R—W' at 'San Serriffe', Amsterdam, October, 2011.
