Jant Typeface

—

A digitally reproduced typeface based on teaching children the process of writing independent figures of the alphabet.

Developed originally by Swiss typographer, type, graphic and book designer Jan Tschihold in 1932 but never realised as a product, its renewed interpretation through reproduction, or by digitisation as a usable type, engages with a form of knowledge transfer whereby the means of production is one inflicted by pastoral intention.
